The developer has issued an update on progress at E1 which remains on track for a January 2022 completion date.

"We are pleased to confirm that the piling works have progressed in line with the programme, with completion on target for the end of March 2020.  The works have been sequenced from the rear to the front of the site and progress has allowed the start of the excavation works to the parking basement levels located at the back of the building.

A milestone on any construction site has been the safe installation of the tower crane. The E1 crane has been installed to a height of some 78 metres and has a lifting capacity of 2,700 kg, allowing it to start lifting heavy materials as the works to the building superstructure and façade progress.
 
The main contractor, Situs Gibraltar, will undertake the foundation and concrete super structure works using their directly employed team of skilled tradesman.  The steel and bespoke formwork is being prepared to allow the structure a timely start, as the foundation levels complete.
 
Situs is also working closely with its supply chain to complete the procurement process of the forthcoming packages of work relating to the façade, building services and finishes."
